Ask Me if I'm Happy is a happy experience, a happy excursion, in fact,
through the immense network of paths that all lead to a better understanding of
happiness. Each of us will end up with his or her unique portrait of happiness.
Nicholas Gaitan explodes the recurrent and naïve belief that answers to our happiness are to be found in a simple top ten list of things to do, change, buy, or fix in our lives. There are no easy solutions, no cookie cutter happiness formulas. He asks, "Why let someone else answer the question of our well-being?" More importantly, the book provides us with six pivotal aspects of happiness that may influence and determine our own answers.
Amazingly, he explores another valuable, but rarely used resource, outside the usual "happiness parameters." Gaitan deals with the lives, writings, and accomplishments of a host of very famous individuals—Katharine Hepburn, Albert Einstein, Walt Disney, John Keats, and the Dalai Lama. What made them happy or sad during their lifetime? Each of these individuals provides insights into our own happiness. Without a doubt, we have a new and exciting study. It's a fascinating journey!
